This is arguably the most powerful feature of Roam/others like it: making connections between your thoughts that you haven't yet realised.
Needing to deliberately tag ideas (i.e. manually connect your notes) introduces friction and places a cognitive burden on writing that is massively relieved by unlinked references. Please find a way to include!

I don't get the difference between Mem X and this feature. Roam 'unlinked references' does a textual search (and poorly, I sometimes end up with 100+ unlinked references in Roam because of their stupid algorithm). At the same time, Mem X is supposed (I say supposed because it is not very good for now) to find similar Mem more powerfully than text search (as in Roam). If Mem X recommends a Mem, then we just need to link it manually.

This request was made before the Mem X feature was introduced…agree there seems to be a reasonable amount of overlap. Therefore, I’m interested to see what the feature being worked on currently ends up looking like.
